Hey All! I’m Matthew Clark, your Global History and Career Development teacher here at AUPE.
After spending 15 years as a marketing and communications executive in New York’s vibrant technology and startup scene, I discovered my true calling lay in education. My passion for mentoring teams and leading learning sessions guided me toward this rewarding career change. I joined the NYC Teaching Fellows in January 2023 and began my journey as a Special Education teacher in September 2023 – and I couldn’t be happier with this decision!
My path to education was also inspired by my parents, both special education teachers in New Jersey. You could say teaching runs in the family!
When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me advising the Model UN and Yearbook club. I also represent our school at Community Board Meetings in Brooklyn North.
I’m a self-proclaimed geek and book nerd who loves technology and reading Fantasy/Sci-Fi novels. Don’t hesitate to recommend your favorite books – I’m always looking to expand my reading list!
I hold an MBA from Louisiana State University, a Masters in Special Education form Adelphia University, and a BA in Communications from Villanova University.
